The Brooklyn Women's Exchange was founded in 1854 by Brooklyn Heights women to help local women who had fallen on hard times augment their income by selling their handiwork at its retail store. More than 150 years later, the Brooklyn Women's Exchange is an outlet for more than three hundred artisans, both male and female, from Brooklyn and beyond, who demonstrate talent in the American crafts tradition.
We specialize in:
• Fine handmade infant and children's clothing: smocked dresses, hand-knit sweaters, hats, and baby blankets
•Handmade dolls, stuffed animals, wooden toys and puzzles
•Quilts, pillows, purses, place mats, napkins, and table runners
•Soaps, skin cremes and sachets
•Greeting cards, books, jewelry, candles, and ceramics
•Brooklyn-related books, clothing, cards, and art
•Special orders for clothing and personalized gifts
